Imagine a time and a place where children are engaged, productive and supportive. They are taking initiative, making decisions on their own, and they do actually learn from their mistakes. They are looking out for each other while striving to maximise the results of their singular and combined efforts.

Imagine no longer! Turn this ideal into a vibrant reality with our children’s Bushveld Adventure Camp, expertly designed and co-ordinated to get children working together, having fun and achieving success. Our Children’s Camps are designed to create ecological awareness, through a variety of outdoor activities during our 5-day/4-night camp.

Our adventure typically starts with a lunch on the arrival day (Monday), before we head out into the bush to choose a camping spot. Once the ideal spot has been chosen, we build our camp, which includes erecting tents, collecting firewood and setting up ablution facilities. During the 5 days, the children take part in various safari-related activities, including game walks, game drives, horse trails, firearm etiquette, target shooting, tree & track identification, making biltong, mud fight, etc. to name but a few. Children are accommodated in tents - safari style!

Our adventure activities are suitable for groups of up to 24 children, between the ages of 8 and 14. We set fun, engaging and highly participative group challenges with achievable goals. The challenges encourage children to think outside the box, whilst pooling skills, resources and experience – teamwork is the way forward! Our first challenge is a treasure hunt, where teams work together to unlock clues, search for keys, decipher cryptic messages and overcome a variety of fun challenges. This is a superb 'get to know each other' activity as participants are driven to become motivated and focused. Ultimately the treasure needs to be found through team tactics of co-operation, strategy, wits and style. Typically, 12 keys with clues are hidden in different locations and the first team to get the co-ordinates to the treasure, and dig it up, wins.

Other games and challenges include:

· Bush Golf (a new golfing sport, played anywhere BUT on the golf course! Hit towards the base of the flag, instead of putting into a hole – a super game ANYONE can play),

· Bush telegraph (where two teams sit on chairs and are asked a question based on what they’ve learnt in the bush. If the team answers correctly, they remove a chair. The first team standing after having answered each question correctly wins)

· Survival (Various African delicacies are placed on a spinning wheel, (pap, Mopani worms, cabbage, pumpkin, chicken feet, etc.). Each survivor must square off against someone from the opposing team, spin the wheel and eat the item to which it points. If a survivor refuses to eat, or if he or she gets sick, that tribe falls behind one point. The tribe that successfully eats the most tucker wins.)

· Bush smart (the teams select one member from their team to act as their 'eyes' while the other members are blindfolded. Sitting atop two towers, the 'eyes' must guide their blindfolded tribe members through a series of obstacles. The first tribe to successfully complete the course wins.)

· Dragged Through the Mud (Tug-of-war to retrieve flags at either end of a pond. Three one-on-one tiebreakers will determine the winner.)

· Blind Bucket (Teams take turns (blindfolded) to fill a bucket with water, using a calabash. The team to fill the bucket the fastest wins.)

· Log Jam (Players face-off in a balance competition as they are suspended on a log, over a water-filled ditch.)

· Ready, Aim, Fire! (Throw stones at targets placed on a fence - the first team to hit all the targets, wins.)
